Aviya, I was introduced to your site by fellow J-Binder Erika Dreyfus' Practicing Writers' Newsletter. I am moved, moist eyes, my heart hurting for what I knew somewhat, but what you document so intimately. Blessings on our people and may those taken and those left behind come home soon.

Thank you so much for this comment! I felt that a walk taught me so much, and I wanted to share it. Grateful to Erika! And yes -- let's bring them home now

Thank you Aviya, for moving our hearts. The picture is changing (I am hopeful) here in the United States since you wrote this. Thank you for slowing things down for us, showing others like me what is happening within Israel.

Thank you, Marlena! I know things have definitely changed--esp in the US--since I wrote this. But the signs and stickers are still up in Tel Aviv, and the overall feeling remains. I hope it's a helpful window into what is happening, here, on the ground.

Thank you Zeeva. I was also heartbroken as I walked. I felt strongly that this was not in the news I had obsessively read and watched -- and very much wanted to include others in this walk.

Making a case for seeing more – yes, so crucial right now. I was down the street from you that night in Tel Aviv. I heard the boom in my sleep and only remembered it after getting frantic calls from loved ones in the States. So glad we met on the plane.

Wow, I didn't realize you were so close! I am a big believer in seeing more not less. So so happy we were plane "neighbors"!!!
